Eyelash Treatment Aftercare

At Nouveau Lashes we are committed to the health of your lashes. From creating the best possible effects, to helping you enjoy your lashes for as long as possible. To help ensure that’s always the case, let's talk about maintenance.

Before and during a Nouveau Lashes treatment, your technician will provide aftercare guidance specific to the treatment performed. But we’ve provided a reminder of the key directions and advice below. To achieve the maximum results from your lash treatment it is essential that you follow the relevent aftercare advice.

Please remember, following the correct aftercare is key to not only keeping your lashes looking fantastic, but preventing any adverse reactions.

If redness or irritation does occur, apply a damp cotton wool compress. If symtoms persist, please consult your GP.

Extend Aftercare

Following your Extend treatment, we recommend professional top-up treatments every 2-3 weeks. By doing that your lash extensions could actually last up to two months.

Why every few weeks? Because your natural lashes have a lifecycle of around 90 days, and are constantly shedding, which will cause your lash extensions to naturally fall off also. The maintenance procedure simply adds extra individual extensions to those places where your natural lashes have completed their lifecycle – keeping your stunning new look in tip-top condition.

You can also look after your lashes at home with our Coating Sealant. Nourishing lashes to keep them stronger and full.

Ready to remove your lashes? You can now remove your eyelash extensions at home with our Eyelash Extension Remover.

Hints and Tips for keeping your individual lash extensions for longer

  • For the first 48 hours after any Nouveau Lashes Extend treatment it’s important not to allow water to come in to contact with your lashes
  • For 2 days afterwards do not steam your face, use a steam bath, swim or wash your face with hot water
  • Do not use waterproof mascara
  • Use oil free make-up remover if mascara is worn (only use a water-based mascara)
  • Do not attempt to perm or use lash curlers on Nouveau Lashes extensions
  • Don’t rub your eyes when washing your face - always pat the lashes dry after cleansing
  • Ensure lashes are not manipulated into different positions (e.g. when sleeping, cleansing the face, applying moisturiser or cosmetics)

LVL Enhance Aftercare

LVL Enhance is a low maintenance treatment meaning you don't need to return to the salon after your treatment.

However we do recommend using our Nouveau Lashes Lash & Brow Conditioning Serum at home to help nourish and strengthen lashes and keep them looking healthy. After your LVL treatment:

  • For 2 days afterwards do not steam your face, use a steam bath, swim or wash your face with hot water
  • Do not use waterproof mascara
  • Use oil free make-up remover if mascara is worn (only use a water-based mascara)
  • Do not attempt to perm or use lash curlers on Nouveau Lashes extensions

SVS Aftercare

Following your SVS treatment, we recommend professional a top-up, every 3-4 weeks, this will help your lash extensions last longer and maintain their beautiful, natural and fluffy appearance.

Why do you need a top-up? Your natural lashes are constantly shedding, in fact, we lose between 2-5 natural lashes every day, a natural lash has a lifecycle of approximately 90 days, which means our maintenance procedure simply adds extra SVS fans to the places where your own lashes have completed their lifecycle – keeping your beautiful new lashes looking as full as possible.

Hints and Tips for keeping your SVS lash extensions for longer:

  • Ensure your lashes do not come into contact with water for the first 48 hours after your SVS treatment, to allow the adhesive to cure
  • Avoid steam, sauna, and swimming for 48 hours after treatment – remember this includes heat from an oven and steam from the kettle
  • Do not use any mascara as this will cause the fans to close and may impede the maintenance of the treatment
  • Try not to use liquid eyeliners, as these can affect the lashes
  • Use only oil-free make up remover (your lash tech can retail a Nouveau Lashes specially formulated one to use with SVS extensions)
  • Be mindful how you sleep at night as sleeping face down may reduce the longevity and change the appearance of the lashes
  • Do not use lash curlers as this will cause your lashes to break
  • Try not to rub or stroke your lashes, as this will transfer oil and bacteria onto them
  • Take care when cleansing, moisturising and applying make-up that you don’t manipulate your lashes into different positions as this may cause them to loosen or fall off
  • SVS lashes are a fan application method which is created using extra fine lash extensions, therefore, we do not recommend clients use any lash coating sealants or conditioning serums, as this will encourage the fans to close and stick together
  • Brush your lashes daily to help the fans to look their best using a disposable mascara wand

We recommend that clients wash their lashes regularly at least 2-3 times per week (daily if you wear eye make up), using our Lash and Lid Foaming Cleanser – as follows:
    • Wash & rinse your hands
    • Pump a small amount of foaming cleanser onto the back of your hand
    • Using your finger or lash cleansing brush, gently work the product through the lashes from root to tip
    • Gently rinse your lashes with clean water
    • Pat dry with a towel or tissue and gently brush with a mascara wand to remove any residue or water.
    • Then allow lashes to dry naturally, this will allow the fans to open up again
