How to Clean Your Eyelash Extensions

Confused about the best way to clean and care for your eyelash extensions? Relax, we’ve got you covered.

After you have avoided water for the first 24 hours and heat or steam for a total of 48 hours, you can start cleaning your Nouveau Lashes eyelash extensions, as the adhesive will have completely cured. Here’s how to maintain a stunning set of lashes:

  1. Remove all your eye make-up with an oil-free formula, like Nouveau Lashes Prebiotic Eye Make-Up Remover Gel. Apply it with a damp cotton pad and gently work around your closed eyes. There’s no need to rub or rinse it off
  2. Clean your eyes 2-3 times a week with an oil-free lash cleanser, like Nouveau Lashes Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser. Close your eyes and gently massage the foam into your lids and lashes, in one direction, away from the lash root. Avoid touching your eyes directly
  3. Gently rinse off the cleanser with water
  4. Run a clean mascara brush through the lashes to fan them out again, so they retain the perfect curl

If you know Nouveau Lashes, you will already know how important lash health is to us. So, as part of our 3 Step Lash Care System, we developed our aftercare cleaning essentials to keep your lashes healthy and beautiful, every day.

Prebiotic Eye Make-Up Remover

When removing make-up, we recommend only using oil-free formulas, as oily products can affect the adhesive bonds. Our Prebiotic Eye Make-Up Remover Gel is perfect as it’s oil-free and removes all traces of make-up, ready for your lash cleanse. This product is designed to work with cotton wool pads and acts as a barrier to prevent fibres becoming stuck or manipulating the lashes.

Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser Set

Use our vegan-friendly Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times per week to keep your lashes perfectly cleansed, hydrated and moisturised.

This cleanser and brush set is easy to use and very refreshing. Apply a few pumps of cleanser to the back of your hand. Next, use the cleansing brush to work the cleanser into the lashes, removing impurities and bacteria. Gently rinse the lashes with clean water when you’re done. To dry, gently dab with a towel, avoiding rubbing the lashes. Finally, comb through your lash extensions with a fresh Mascara Wand.

If you’re having a break from your eyelash extensions, or going au naturel with your lashes, you can still use this clever cleanser, as its ingredients are suitable for eyelash extensions and beneficial to your natural eyelashes.

There are lots of other handy uses for this must-have cleanser. Try it for cleaning make-up brushes, strip lashes after use (allowing for re-use) and removing any traces of strip lash adhesive from your eyelids.
