What are Extend Eyelash Extensions?

Our Extend treatment uses individual lash extensions to extend your natural lashes, giving you longer, fuller lashes for up to 8 weeks. Often known as classic or individual lashes, this treatment creates flawless, natural eyelash extensions and is the perfect look for anyone wanting to add depth and length to their natural lashes.

Whether you want natural, glam, or just a little boost, your Nouveau Lashes certified Extend lash artist can create a bespoke look to suit your eyes using our variety of beautiful curls and lengths that won’t weigh down your natural lashes. This treatment will transform your beauty routine.

How long do eyelash extension treatments take?

Extend eyelash extensions take from 90 minutes by a qualified lash artist.

How long do Extend lash extensions last?

With immediate results, Extend lashes can last up to 8 weeks but with regular infills every 2-3 weeks they can last longer.

How much do Extend eyelash extensions cost?

This luxury treatment is, on average, £65 per treatment.

How do Extend individual eyelash extensions work?

To create Extend lashes, a Nouveau Lashes qualified lash artist uses a 1-on-1 technique to apply one individual lash extension onto one of your natural lashes, resulting in beautiful sets of semi-permanent lashes. Our individual lashes come in a range of lengths, curls and weights so your lash artist can create customisable looks that are tailored to your unique eye shape, resulting in an authentic set of natural looking eyelash extensions. You’ll have a consultation to determine what bespoke looks they can create for you and once your treatment begins, you can relax whilst your lash artist transforms your lashes.

What to expect during an Extend Treatment

Individual eyelash extensions are a closed eye treatment, so you'll need to close your eyes fully whilst your lash artist works from behind your head. They will apply all of the appropriate protective wear including tape or lash pads to separate your lower lashes and protect your undereye from the tweezers which are used to separate each lash. Classic lashes are known for adding a subtle but effective enhancement and can take from 90 minutes to create beautiful, natural eyelash extensions – if you are wanting a fuller look, try our Hybrid lashes or Russian Volume treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get natural-looking eyelash extensions?

To achieve natural-looking eyelash extensions, ask your lash artist for a softer curl, like a J or B. These curls will blend with your natural lashes for a more subtle look. You could also ask for a length that’s closer to your natural lash length, as your lash artist can chose a lash extension up to 3mm longer than your natural lashes. Your Nouveau Lashes Artist will always use a weight that matches the thickness of your natural lash, protecting your lash health and creating a seamless set of eyelash extensions. Read our Types of Eyelash Extensions guide for more help on finding your perfect lash look.

Are eyelash extensions safe?

Eyelash extensions are completely safe when applied by a trained professional. Before your treatment, you’ll have a patch test and a consultation to determine any potential allergies or reactions – make sure you declare any skin conditions you have so your lash artist can record them and advise whether it’s safe to go ahead with the treatment.

Do individual lash extensions damage your natural lashes?

When applied correctly, individual lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes. Nouveau Lashes artists use lightweight lashes and follow Weight for Weight guidelines during Extend treatments to ensure that your lash extensions won’t weight down your natural lashes, minimising the risk of damage. Make sure you don’t pull on your lash extensions to avoid any lash loss and follow the correct aftercare advice to keep your lashes healthy.

Do lash extensions come out on their own?

Extensions should last through your natural lash cycle which means as new lashes grow, old lashes naturally fall out every 6-8 weeks, so you’ll require top-up treatments every 2-3 weeks to keep them looking full. It’s important you don’t pull the lashes out yourself and if they’re not being maintained we recommend that extensions are removed after 8 weeks.  If you would like your lashes removing, ask your lash artist to remove them for you or alternatively you can safely do it yourself in the comfort of your own home using our Lash Extension Remover.

Can you get Extend eyelash extensions wet?

For the first 24 hours after your treatment, do not get your eye area wet and avoid saunas or steam rooms until 48 hours after your treatment as your eyelashes can take up to 48 hours for the glue to fully set. Water, steam and heat can cause the bond in the glue to break down and can cause the lash extensions to fall out or become loose. After this time period, you can continue to shower, swim and use saunas but make sure you brush your lashes afterwards using a mascara wand.

Can you still wear make-up with individual lash extensions?

You can still wear make-up with Extend lashes but if you are wanting to wear mascara specifically, we recommend using our Enhance Lash Extension Mascara. This has been especially developed to work with your extensions and can easily be removed with water. We advise using oil-free products around the eye area, whether it’s make-up or make-up remover because the oils can breakdown the bonds in the glue, causing the extensions to become loose or fall out. Our oil-free Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is perfect for removing make-up around your lash extensions and is packed with watercress, pomegranate and mango to promote healthy lashes.

Can you curl eyelash extensions?

Eyelash curlers should not be used on your lash extensions because they can damage your lashes by applying too much pressure near the adhesive bonds. This can cause your lash extensions to come loose and pull your natural lash out with it prematurely. Heated lash curlers should also be avoided with eyelash extensions as heat can cause the bonds in the glue to break down. Our lash extensions come in a variety of curls so you can achieve a natural or a more dramatic curl, just let your lash artist know your preference on your next appointment.
