WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME YOUR OWN GIRL BOSS?

I studied beauty therapy for 3 years, after I left college I worked in salon and spas. I always wanted more, so I decided to focus my mind into building a business that was my own.

WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOURSELF AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR GIRL BOSS JOURNEY?

Figure out exactly what YOU want. Be patient. Remember things take time (Rome wasn’t built in a day) as long as you have a goal & plan anything is possible. Make sure you have balance & good time management, so that you are working efficiently and effectively, also having down time to enjoy other aspects of your life. Relax and embrace the journey. Make sure you enjoy what you are doing & how you are doing it. Timing is everything, it will all come.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE FEMALE EMPOWERMENT?

Female empowerment for me is we are all equal, we all hold power within and I truly believe we can do & achieve anything we set our mind to.

HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER COMPLETING YOUR FIRST TREATMENT?

My first ever lash lift treatment was while I was training, it took me over an hour to complete, at the time I felt  uptight about that as the treatment was timed at 45 minutes. I can remember wanting to master it, even though it was my first ever treatment, I was learning – I wanted to make sure each stage was carried out correctly and the end result was going to be spot on. Hats off to the trainer she had me feeling confident after the full training was complete.

HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER OFFICIALLY REGISTERING YOUR BUSINESS OR OPENING YOUR OWN PREMISES?

I was super excited but I also had those feelings of the unknown of how things were going to turn out. I had big plans, I was so eager to get started and see how it would all come together & progress.

WHICH KEY FACTORS DO YOU THINK ARE THE CAUSE OF YOUR SUCCESS?

Client care – number one & key! I genuinely care for all of my clients, I want each and everyone to experience the same when they come to me for a treatment – my goal is to have them leaving better when they leave. Again it all comes down to client care, always go above and beyond… my clients have referred me and gave me reviews off their own back, that is how my business has consistency grown since.

HOW POPULAR ARE LASH TREATMENTS WITH YOUR CLIENT BASE?

It’s one of the hottest treatments – LVL is something my clients can’t go without now. No make up, no mascara and no maintenance. You literally wake up with lashes you long for.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE IN YOUR CAREER?

My best achievement is probably right about now… from dedicating myself to my personal growth & business in the UK over the years, you never know what’s round the corner. I was head hunted for a company in Dubai. It’s a massive opportunity for me. Hard work pays off and leads to bigger things.

Work on yourself more than your job – it’s a quote that has always stuck with me. I have always loved personal development, learning & growing and working towards becoming the best version of myself. I truly believe if you get the inside right the outside will fall into place just how it should.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP-TIPS TO ACHIEVE A GREAT CLIENT BASE?

Have a plan firstly – figure it out what you want to achieve – break it down – set yourself realistic goals. Next provide unbelievable service and give your clients what THEY want, along with your expertise. Be consistent and self teach, learning is always earning. For me if I love something I become obsessed – my dad has always said if your going to do something be the best at it. I would always reflect back on treatments and think what could I do to make that better?

Referrals will come naturally and business will grow if you and your quality of work is top & consistent.

WHICH WOMEN ALONG THE WAY HAVE INSPIRED YOU THE MOST?

Oprah – I love listening to her, watching & reading her pieces online. She is an incredible woman and I’ve learned SO much. She inspires me to be the woman I want to be. My family & friends also, they have done nothing but love & support me along my journey and help me in any way they can. I don’t know what I’d do without them.

WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY THIS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY?

Be you, do you, for you. Never discredit your gut instinct when it comes to making decisions in life & business. Your  intuition is a super power, allow it to guide you to what is right for you. It’s key to live YOUR truth make sure you do what you love & love what you do. When you are passionate about all that you are doing, good things will come. Also remember there is enough business for everyone, support and empower one another. Incredible things happen when women come together.

Remember you are your own brand, you represent you & your work at all times.

Presentation and attitude should always be attractive. When it comes to social media posts make sure the images of your work are clean, professional & presentable. Always ask yourself if a client seen this would they want to book in with me? (I do this all the time while analysing my work to see how I can improve every time)
