A Day in the Life of: Mummy’s Beauty Corner

Being a mum is a full-time career in itself! In addition to being a parent, you also take on the role of chauffeur, chef, friend, nurse, entertainer, stylist and bank. Whilst having young (or old) children is the most rewarding job in the world, it can be a struggle to scrape together enough ‘me time’ to have a bath or paint your nails, never mind a couple of hours being pampering in a local beauty salon. Low maintenance beauty is much needed…

To make sure you still look great on the go (baby sick down your brand-new dress or not) we have shared one of the best low maintenance beauty treatments for mums-on-the-go: LVL lashes!

The treatment itself only takes 45 minutes (or less!) and the results are instant, meaning you can leave the salon with gorgeous long lashes, which are all your own. The only maintenance required is a top up every 6-8 weeks, meaning it is ideal for busy mums. We asked Dagmara from Mummy’s Beauty Corner, mum of 2, to reveal how well LVL lashes fit into her lifestyle.

What time does your alarm go off in the morning?

6.30.  I usually snooze it for 5 minutes or so but 6.40 I need to be up if I want to take a shower in peace before my boys wake up.

Could you describe a normal day in your life?

As a ‘stay-at-home-mum’ my everyday life revolves around my children, so once we’re up I prepare breakfast for my boys and get them ready for school and nursery. Once I’ve dropped them at school I have my quiet time of the day to have my breakfast and coffee, catch up on social media, emails and all the admin work that comes with blogging.

Before noon I go to pick my younger son from nursery, if the weather is nice we like to go to the park or to meet with some friends for the children to burn some energy, and believe me, they have lots of it!

At 3 we go to pick up my older son from school. In the evenings, we have dinner together, do some homework and get ready for bed. Bedtime is 8pm, so after this I finally have time to do my skincare routine and relax, which usually means blogging or if it’s Friday then it’s time for some wine and a Netflix session.

What’s your daily beauty regime?

I’m a beauty junkie and I love skincare and makeup! I always cleanse (or double cleanse in the evening) my face in the morning and evening, then apply toners, serums, and moisturisers. I never skip my skincare routine and try and test lots of different products. My skin has never looked better and I’m in my late 30s, so I guess it’s worth it.

More time to get ready or 10 minutes extra in bed?

It depends, if I know that I don’t have any important meetings during the day then 10 more minutes in bed is very tempting, but if I have a busy day ahead then I like to be on top of things so will wake up earlier.

How would you describe your lashes before LVL?

My natural lashes are thin, very straight and too short.

How would you describe your lashes after it?

My lashes after the LVL treatment look longer and thicker, and of course lifted.

What is your favourite thing about LVL?

My favourite thing is that I look like I have a mascara on even right after I wake up, my lashes are lifted and more visible so I can get away with wearing no makeup at all and still feel human-like, whereas before mascara was an absolute ‘must-have’ for me. I also love how my lashes look when I do apply mascara to them, I don’t need to use eyelash curler and three different mascaras to achieve the effect I get now after the LVL treatment with only one coat of mascara.

Who would you recommend LVL to?

Absolutely to anyone who want their natural lashes to look better! Anyone who doesn’t like wearing makeup but want more defined looking eye, anyone leading a busy lifestyle who doesn’t have time for makeup, new mums who can’t be bothered with any makeup but still want to look a bit more put together and people going on holiday.

Would you describe yourself as low or high maintenance?

I would say that in general I’m high maintenance but when the situation forces me I am perfectly fine with skipping on some things.

Has becoming a mother affected your beauty regime? If so, how?

Oh yes! You basically have very little time to yourself, especially when the children are small so even the daily priorities change. I always took care of my skin as I think it’s very important if you want to look your best for as long as possible, but I had to reduce the time I could spend in front of my mirror because my kids wouldn’t care if I have blended that eyeshadow perfectly or if the wing liner was sharp enough, when they need attention, they need attention!

How much time do you get to yourself?

On weekends, when my husband can look after the boys, I can easily spend 2 hours at my vanity table experimenting with makeup and creating different makeup looks. I also take my time in the evening to apply a face mask and just relax.

Are there any other low maintenance beauty treatments you have already or would like to try?

I want to try the SVS lash treatment next, as I think I would skip the eye makeup completely on everyday basis as the lashes look glamorous enough on their own. I would also like to treat myself to gel nails as they last so much longer than regular nail polish.
