HOW TO GET ALL THE SUMMER GLORY AND NO GRIEF

As a busy lash artist, you know when a client is only half-listening to your aftercare advice. Too busy admiring their lush new lashes!  Don’t worry, we’re here to help, with our quick-reference holiday season checklist especially for them.  This keeps their lashes in tip-top condition while they’re away and gets you brownie points for looking after them!

THE MUST-HAVE HOLIDAY SEASON CHECKLIST

To be sure that your clients take care of your creations and leave you a glowing review on social media, you need to make absolutely sure all your soon-to-be sunbathers and swimmers fully understand the rules of lash maintenance when they’re on holiday.

Get prepped for summer by sharing our advice with all your clients and make sure you’re stocked up with the products they will need to take with them, to keep their lashes in tip-top condition while they’re away.

LASH TIPS FOR YOUR SUMMER TRIP

  • Keep oily sun products away from the eyes. Tanning oil and sunscreen affect the bonds of extensions
  • Clean the eye area thoroughly before bed with a gentle oil-free cleanser.  Clogged lash follicles get itchy and rubbing them means bye-bye lashes
  • Only use mascara specifically developed for lash extensions
  • Wash lashes daily, even if you’re not wearing makeup, and pat them dry to keep oil, sweat and dirt at bay
  • Swim more in the sea. It’s more lash-friendly. Salt water doesn’t affect lash bonds, while too much chlorinated pool water does
  • Hydrate lashes to stop them drying out in the heat. Pack a tube of Lash & Brow Conditioning Serum

THINGS TO AVOID ON YOUR SUMMER TRIP

  • Don’t have extensions in hayfever season if you’re a sufferer. Eye-rubbing equals lash fallout. Choose LVL instead
  • Don’t go in the swimming pool until 24hrs after your lash treatment.  Remember, all types of newly treated lashes need to stay dry for 24 hours
  • Don’t pick off or pull out lash extensions.  Using force to pull out extensions can leave behind stubby lashes and cause permanent lash loss, as the natural lash will break off with the extension. The best way to remove extensions is by re-visiting your technician to have them removed quickly and professionally.
  • Don’t rub off makeup. Delicately press or dab the eyelids with cotton pads instead
