Our Guide: How To Clean Your Eyelash Extensions

Knowing the best way to clean and care for eyelash extensions can easily be confusing, with post treatment advice instructing us not to touch or wet eyelash extensions in the first 48 hours. This could lead you to be apprehensive when cleaning your lashes in future. Worry not! We can clearly explain how to maintain a set of lashes.

After you have avoided moisture, heat and water for 48 hours, you can begin cleaning your eyelash extensions as the lash adhesive bonds are completely cured after this time, no stress needed.

If you know Nouveau Lashes, you will already know how important lash health is to us. We highly recommend using our Vegan friendly Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times per week to keep your lashes perfectly cleansed, hydrated and moisturised. TOP TIP: When removing make-up, we advise to only use oil-free products as oily products can affect the adhesive bonds.  Our Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover is perfect as its oil-free and removes all traces of make-up ready for your lash cleanse. Also, try to avoid cotton wool pads, as there fibres can become stuck or manipulate the lashes.

The Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser Set is easy to use and very refreshing.  Apply a few pumps to the back of your hand and using the cleansing brush, work the cleanser into the lashes, removing impurities and bacteria with a gentle rinse through the lashes with clean water when you’re finished. To dry gentle dab with a towel, avoid rubbing the lashes. Then comb through the lash extensions with a fresh Mascara Wand. If you’re having a break from your eyelash extensions or you’re going au natural with your lashes, you can still use this clever cleanser as its ingredients are suitable for both eyelash extensions and natural eyelashes.

There are lots of other handy uses of this must-have cleanser. Such as using it to clean make-up brushes, strip lashes after use (allowing for re-use) and removing any traces of strip lash adhesive from the eyelids.
