The Lash Artist Hall Of Fame: Meet Charlotte Carr
We love hearing wonderful stories of everything our lash artists have achieved, it makes us feel super proud… if you set your sights on success, anything is possible. Recently, we spoke to lash artist Charlotte Carr who has won awards for her lash artistry as well as her salon hygiene standards. Her story inspired us, and we hope it will inspire you too.
Last month, Charlotte received two awards: one for herself and one for her beauty salon Forever Gorgeous Beauty in Milton Keynes. Charlotte won first place for Best Lash Specialist at The British Hair and Beauty Awards, which is a huge achievement! If that wasn’t enough, she won silver for Best Lash Bar in the UK. “My trophies have proudly made their presence known in my salon on the top shelve for all to see,” she tells us. We don’t blame her!
Charlotte thanked us for our part to play in her career success: “I truly owe my knowledge and experience to Nouveau Lashes and all the staff I have learnt tips and training from over the years on all the different courses. Being a lash educator has always giving me a USP in my beauty salon and in competitions, giving me that extra edge against local competitors. Its shows my experience as an expert and allows me to offer a better quality of service to my customers.”
Charlotte suggests getting your name and business out there, as well as making the effort to stand out from the crowd. “I would highly recommend anyone in the lash industry to put them self forward and enter competitions,” she says. “Nouveau Lashes especially have a Visionary programme in place, if you get chosen you get to represent them and attend lash competitions on behalf of the company with a full Nouveau Lashes kit. You’ll also get invited to work for them backstage at some of the top TV shows, lashing the stars on Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing On Ice.”
We couldn’t agree more that entering competitions, applying to become a Visionary or becoming a brand ambassador for companies is a huge USP for your business. “What an achievement that you can go back to your business and clients and tell them,” says Charlotte. “Even if you don’t become a finalist, almost every time you still get awarded with a certificate which you can proudly showcase as evidence of your ever-growing skills. This will help you to bring in new customers and give your existing customers a reason to remain loyal… they’ll be proud to have you as their lash technician.”
Her success doesn’t stop there; Charlotte received a 5-star rating for hygiene when she was audited by the Salon Standards Agency. She’s extremely proud: “It’s really reassuring to my clients and team that we are doing everything in our power to provide clean, effective standards in our salon surrounding COVID.
